If you are having trouble connecting with your parents about college, we can help. You both want a successful college outcome; you just might have different ideas about what that means. Sometimes parents hold on too long to the idea that they need to manage the big decisions. That can be frustrating for teenagers trying to become more independent. Most teenagers know how expensive college is and want to help in some way; they just don’t know what to do.
Through our Teen Connection, we get parents and teens on the same page for college, so you each know what the game plan is and who is responsible for what. We’ll give you some specific ways you can be meaningfully involved in the whole college deal, beyond just writing essays and taking SATs. With any luck, your parents will realize your responsible attitude, and who knows where that might lead?
College might seem like it’s the ultimate goal, but it’s just one chapter in your life. When you graduate, you might have loans to repay, you might want to continue your education, or you might be getting started on a career. We can be a resource to help you through those steps.
