Roper Memorial Scholarship – Southside Virginia Military Officers’ Assocation

The Roper Memorial Scholarship program was made possible by the generous bequest of Ms. Caroline T. Roper to the Southside Virginia Chapter, MOAA. The bequest of Ms. Roper, on behalf of her family, was to honor the sacrifice, courage, and dedication demonstrated by the members of the U.S. Armed Forces in defense of our nation. The Chapter Board established “a permanent Roper Memorial Scholarship” beginning in the 1997 school year. The Scholarship is intended for students with an Armed Forces relationship to perpetuate the memory of Ms. Roper and her family. Those applicants deemed eligible for the award are to be “dependents of active duty and retired military personnel, children and grandchildren of regular and auxiliary members of the Southside Virginia Chapter, MOAA generally residing in the Ft. Lee Va. Geographic Area”.  See Counselor for application.
